Pastor Bonnie Wilcox, the senior pastor of Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church since late 2005, has announced her resignation from the church. She has accepted a new call to serve at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in North St. Paul, Minnesota.

Pastor Bonnie’s last Sunday will be March 22. Please join our congregation in giving thanks for her ministry with and among us, and blessing her on the next call God has put upon her life.

Attached are letters from Christopher Stordalen, the president of the church, and from Pastor Bonnie.

Wild places are sometimes places we do not choose to visit. Certainly, they are places where we do not have very much control. Weather, terrain, and wild life can surprise and shake us, or send us into a sudden sense of awe and beauty.

Early in Jesus’ ministry, he spent 40 days in the wilderness, and we draw on that story to shape our Lenten season in 2015. We invite you into a time of reflection, wondering, prayer and worship that is different from other times of the year. The Church’s Season of Lent is a 40-day period of time often set aside to let go of old habits, or personal comforts, and/or to try on new habits as a way of deepening a relationship with God.

We improve our batting average, piano playing, and even cooking through practice. Doing something again and again leads to changed or new habits. Here are several opportunities and tools to devote time to your relationship with God this Lent.

You are invited to worship and choose one or more of these practices to help shape a Lent of intention and faithfulness.

Rev. Bonnie Wilcox and Rev. Amanda Simons, Pastors
