About GA Church

Stained glass at GA Church Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church has been a part of St. Paul’s East Side since 1889. We have been in our present location since 1959.

Galatians 5:1: For FREEDOM, Christ has set us free.

To be free doesn’t mean there are no doubts, guidelines, or even responsibilities. Freedom is filled with promise and hope, but it takes courage to live a life of freedom. It means we strive to do our best each day to live His mission and trust in the Lord.

Christ has set us free to…

Worship in lively, evolving ways:  Worship is the core of our life together. It is why we are a church.

Learn God’s story:  We are free to teach the story of God’s love and mercy found in Jesus Christ and invite every member of this community to study the Bible.  Education programs for adults, youth and children, including programs oriented to needs of our neighbors, help us to reach more people with the Gospel.

Embrace community:  We are free to share in fellowship through more intentional and generous hospitality. We  seek to be more inclusive and generous with our welcoming, mercy and love.  And we continue to celebrate the important events and blessings of our lives!

Share God’s blessings:  We are free to serve all people by opening our building to others and immersing our gifts more deeply in our neighborhood.

Welcome all:  We are free to reach out more graciously to youth and elderly in the community.
